They say that eyes are the windows to the soul… any wonder why I’m so into EYES this month, I’m loving every look from my favourite smokey eyes (*yes thats me on the right photo) to the fruity shades of summer: so you can imagine I was more than delighted when one of London’s best make-up artists to the celebrities Dunja Ghag offered to show The Cosmedic Coach how to get the best smoky eyes ever with her easy step tutorial:

”Smokey Eyes Made Easy’
‘As a makeup artist over the years the ‘smokey eye’ has always been the most requested look. The reason behind this is because most women have never been shown how to create this sexy sultry look. Firstly the smokey eye is a style of the application; a smokey eye can consist of different shades other then black and gray. This makes the smokey eye more wearable for day by introducing different colour combinations. First start off with a cream to powder base in a skin tone color, this is applied from the lash line up to the brow bone.
Take an eye pencil ( black, plum, brown, gray etc) and gently apply all over the eyelid making sure to keep this in your ‘crease’ ( your natural eye socket)
To blend this out use a soft synthetic brush buffing the product to create an even wash of color, lightly blend this into your crease. Blending is the key to achieving sexy smokey eyes, so take your time and blend, blend, blend! Now it is time to create depth and contrast to your eyes, select 3 shades ( examples, gold, chocolate brown and black / silver, navy and black) start by applying your mid tone eye shadow work this all over the eyelid and gently blend into crease, taking your black shadow use this against your top lash line on the outer edges to create more contrast, using the lightest shade place a touch of this on the very inside corner of the eye.Next take your eye pencil and line the top of your lash line you can give this a gentle blend with your brush to soft the liner. Use a pair of eyelash curlers and curl your top lashes then apply 2 coats of you favourite mascara. Moving onto the lower lash line, take your eye pencil and apply this in your waterline ( inside your eye) then take a flat brush with your middle toned eye shadow and apply from the outer corner all the way in on your lower lash line. You are in control of how strong you want to make this starting off with a small amount and adding until your are happy with the result works. Next use the lightest eye shadow again on the inside corners of your eyes. Apply 2 coats of mascara to your lower lashes. Quick Fix Tip: when working with deeper shadows it can be easy to get out of control, however if you notice in the crease line you are having difficulty blending the shadow out so it fades softly, simply use a little face powder ( looser or pressed works well) apply this to a clean fluffy brush and work the powder into the crease by lightly blending this will soften a hard line. ” –
