Skinade-Bottle-Multiple-2For the last month I have be reviewing SKINADE a 150ml drink with natural flavours of peach and mangosteen, manufactured in UK by Bottledscience.

SKINADE is marketed as a product for the skin and body, the distributors claim they have a ‘unique’ formulation designed to deliver collagen and essential micronutrients in a liquid form into the body; using advanced technology and high quality ingredients to help maintain hydration and skin function, at this point many of you will switch off and say ‘ok whatever’, but this is the bit where I perk up, because I want to know HOW, we’ll come back to this later though.

For one month I drank one bottle of SKINADE every morning, This was a challenge in itself, I am not the biggest fan of drinking anything cold especially in the morning unless of course it’s 35 degree outside and the sun is shining.

The taste? It’s acquired, I found it nauseating myself, sweet and sickly, I would ‘down it’ in one go to get it over and done with, but don’t be influenced by my own personal taste, everybody has different taste buds, mine struggle with anything related to Mango and Orange, the taste resembles a vitamin supplement drink my mother used to make me take as a kid.

By week two and three I am struggling with taking this daily, so I add it into my juices, and smoothies and surprisingly my touch of genius means I am not feeling the nausea of the sweet sickly taste now with so much impact, the marriage of SKINADE and a natural juice or smoothie makes a perfect skincare partnership.

According to the distributors, SKINADE is ‘beauty in a bottle’, they claim it works from the inside out to rebuild and strengthen the collagen matrix below the skin’s surface, boost natural levels of hydration and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Developed by UK scientists and manufactured in the UK, the patent-pending formulation contains what they deem to be: high-grade collagen and essential micronutrients.

The collagen used in SKINADE is sourced from fresh-water fish (so this rules out vegans) however, the collagen used in SKINADE is low in sodium and avoids mercury contamination, (this is good news).

An impressive 7000mg of Collagen is included in each bottle. This will explain why a pack of 5 bottles costs £15.00, it’s posh collagen, the sleek white contemporary bottle design gives it the authority and  presence worthy of a Prada handbag,

The makers claims that drinking Skinade on a daily basis results in firmer, more even toned, hydrated, radiant, youthful and healthier looking skin. It reduces fine lines and wrinkles and repairs connective tissue, so apparently we will also benefit from stronger, healthier and faster-growing hair and nails.

Conclusion? I am not sure whether I saw a dramatic improvement to my skin, or whether I wanted to believe there was an improvement to my skin, either way, the knowledge of understanding that I was putting something ‘extra’ that was ‘beneficial’ into my body certainly made me feel good.

I did notice that the dry area underneath my eyes had improved slightly, but then again it could be the results of the skin products I am currently reviewing that are responsible, how can we really be sure?

The distributors have sent me some pretty impressive before and after photographs, I was kind of hoping I could have posted the same results on me, but it is hard to measure the external impact of a product that is taken internally, unless it is taken for a significant period of time, I don’t think 30 days really cuts it, I think 3 months would be better.

On a positive note my hair is looking good as are my nails, so could we be on to something here?…

I have tried a lot of Collagen drinks, but I am going to stick my neck out on this one and say despite my not being a fan of the flavours (this is my pure personal taste), it packs a pretty good Collagen punch.
