Do you automatically assume that men are purely visual creatures led by what they see?, if you do well you are not alone, It is a common belief amongst millions of women that men are interested more in the physical aspects of a woman, such as a super skinny model figure with big breasts and full buttocks, beautiful face, long hair, manicured nails and sexy outfit. There is no denying that whilst those physical attributes are a plus, they are actually quite far down the list of the qualities men seek in a woman as their life companion.

So what do men really look for in a woman?

The following are the 7 qualities that focus a mans attention on you, in the right way.

Great personality.

Also known as inner beauty. It is how a woman makes a man feel comfortable being around her. An easy going and down to earth attitude are what most men seek first when they get to know a woman. Ever notice how sometimes no matter how beautiful a woman can be she can seem ugly by her sheer rudeness or arrogance, or distance cold aloof aura? Not exactly enticing is it? Next time you define beauty by the physical ask yourself is there inner beauty in that person. There are many quotes circulating to support this theory, one of our favourites is “beauty will take you far in life, but personality will take you all the way”

Good sense of humour.

When it comes to attractive attributes this is always part of a mans list, Men enjoys being with someone with whom they can share a good laugh together. It is important that you can get the joke and laugh rather than being insulted about it. Being a kid at heart is the best way to stay looking and feeling young and thats an attractive trait in itself, to be forever young. Don’t be afraid to poke fun at yourself sometimes, being open to humour makes you an attractive inviting person, and automatically enables people to think “she is approachable”.

Reliability.

No man likes a Diva! Turning up really late or not even turning up for a date at all without explaining fairly, is a big no-no to a man, Men appreciate women who are reliable and do what they say. Be predictable in a way that they know you can be trusted; men like to trust, in fact we all like to trust, having a firm sense of reliability ensures that a man can place his trust in you and form long term plans as they know you are dependable.

Good listener.

According to a report in a British Newspaper The Daily Mail, women talk approximately 20,000 words a day!, whilst men talk around 7,000 words per day, so statistically women talk 13,000 words more than a guy, so whilst you ladies are doing the speaking don’t forget to listen It is a rare skill that is highly appreciated by most men. Being able to listen to what they have to say and give appropriate feedback or advice is a great plus to win a mans heart. It gives the sense of comforting trusting feeling to them. Lets try and redefine those statistics and sit back and listen.

Be un-materialistic.

Men get turned off with women who have high maintenance and squeeze out of their pockets. While it is the true nature of a man to want to provide, being milked for a womans personal interest is a different story. Nothing screams of sexiness more than independence and ambition, women determined to carve a profile and identity for themselves are attractive not only to men but as general human beings that have a story to tell of drive, passion and hard work.

Independence.

As much as men enjoy being a womans hero, they appreciate their women to be capable and independent in life. They like their women to be presentable in front of their family and friends, someone they can be proud of. Like Ne-Yo sings it in his song She’s got her own thing Miss independent thats why I love her. Clinginess is cute when you are 2 years old, but as an adult it is not so cute and attractive to most people, especially men.

Physical appearance.

It is down the list but it is also one of the things men look at in a woman. Surveys show that most men do not want a woman with a super model body. Women need to spend fortunes on beauty maintenance, it is more like personal care and how they present themselves. That men find attractive. Men generally prefer their women to be equal or shorter height than them and with equal or lighter body weight than them.

Oh and one more thing, most men we have spoken to think that natural curves rock, dispelling the myth that skinny equals beautiful.

Enhancing your body and image is perfectly acceptable but you need to be realistic about the concept of beauty and happiness, so Before you go dialling for your plastic surgeon,take a good look in the mirror and learn to love what you have, embrace your inner beauty and if you learn to love yourself others in turn will also love you, IF after all of this you should still find yourselves not be happy with a minor imperfection then you know that good cosmetic surgery and medicine can always help you achieve the image you have always wanted to lead you to a more confident and happier you.
