Fashion-show-opening-sceneCOACH BLOG: I love a good fashion show, so I couldn’t resist popping into the Harvey Nichols gorgeous Autumn/Winter show case yesterday evening at The MailBox.

I am sure there were just under 600 people attending this gorgeous little affair judging by the crowded benches. This annual event never fails to be stylish with plenty of champagne flowing, hey it’s a Tuesday what else are we supposed to do?,

Forgive me, I am easily distracted from catwalk clothes by the gorgeous handbags and shoes that the wafer thin like models sashay down the catwalk with, so I have to remind myself to keep my eyes up at mid level and stop averting my gaze to the hands and feet.

However no matter how hard I try the only things I tend to focus on at a fashion show are: the models waist sizes, the bags and shoes that adorn their hands and feet, and most importantly their make up and hair, to me those are the most fundamental aspects of any outfit.

You can put a simple plain inexpensive black dress on, but add the right accessories, shoes, clutch, a powerful lipstick, and good hair, and pow! you have the recipe for real style, well that’s my opinion, by hey don’t listen to me I’m no Anna Wintour.

1037_519067481509841_1657502537_nFrom Gatsby to 70’s glamour,or retro, to contemporary chic, once thing is for sure from what I watched last night: style is currently and quite refreshingly eclectic,  there was no ‘one’ set trend that dictated the whole collection, instead what I was pleased to see was a wonderful variety of cut, cloth, style, hair and make-up that was designed for the eclectic mixture of people that we are, although I’m not sure you’d feel so warm and fuzzy about the ridiculous price tags.

I’d love to go all ‘la-di-dah’ on you and state how wonderful Balmain’s geographic prints were in respect to Alexander McQueens mixed prints but I’ll only bore you, because A. this is a beauty blog and b. I see the beauty in things that are not always the most obvious.
