A few years back, after struggling to find an effective cleansing regime. I happened to stumble across two products from Lush Cosmetics that I’ve simply adored ever since.
As a trainee makeup artist I always aim to find products which offer more than one use, and boy oh boy did I strike lucky!
Ultrabland (voted by the founder of Lush as their number one desert island item) is a luxuriously rich and creamy cleanser. It’s promoted by Lush, as ideal for suffers of troublesome skin. If this is you, then it is recommended that you use Ultrabland on your face for one month to restore the skins natural harmony.
The blend compromising of beeswax, rose water, almond oil (and literally a handful of other ingredients), is fragrance free and does an amazing job of removing tough residue, even waterproof mascara!, All this is achieved without stripping the skin of its natural oils.
Although this cleanser can be used simply with cotton pads. I prefer the hot cloth method which really freshens my skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth and make-up free.
The sister product to Ultrabland, is the amazing Ultrabalm a petroleum-free saviour.
Now, I’ve used Ultrabalm in every way possibly imaginable (nothing saucy though might I add!) I have found it to be the perfect salve for anything. From nappy rash to healing tattoos. Chapped lips to damaged cuticles. I’ve even used it as a protective balm when colouring my hair, and mixed it with my favourite lipsticks for the hydrated yet glossed look.
This product really does work wonders and it remains constant in my house, as I never run out of uses for it.
These items will set you back roughly 8 to 11 pounds each, but the fantastic thing is they really do last.
One thing I genuinely love about Lush is that you don’t have to be afraid to ask for samples. If you buy something and it?s not right, take it back! They are one of the few companies who genuinely want their customers to have a complete experience whilst shopping with them.
I’ve been amazed by how simple yet effective this range is for the past 4 years. For anyone looking to try something new, be brave. I promise you’re unlikely to regret it.
