Zalando Spring/Summer Fashion Event at The W Hotel

29, Janaury 20014, W Hotel Wow Suite, London: I attended a lovely press event for Europe’s largest on-line fashion company Zalando, the event hosted by the fabulous team at Bright Light PR, was held in the WOW Suite at the rather gorgeous W Hotel, this was “no ordinary suite” as Paige from Bright Light PR informed me *with a sparkle in her eye* “this is the bed where Leonardo Di Caprio sleep after he partied here for the Wolf of Wall Street premiere”, the bed was SO huge it resembled three King size beds stitched together, I have to confess it did look rather lush and I bet if furniture could talk that bed could tell a tale or two!

I digress. The WOW suite was large airy and uber cool and a perfect match for the rails of tempting Spring/Summer clothes adorning every angle of the wall. Now I am no fashion blogger or writer, I attended the event as I was interested to see how European women (and men) are dressing and as a result what hair and beauty trends are dictating, needless to say fashion just like beauty at this moment in time is brilliantly eclectic, from soft pastel feminines, bold futuristic monochrome, aztec prints, and jungle inspirde chiffon you can dress to suit your mood or personality, and that’s where we are with beauty right now, from bright orange lipstick as favoured by DKNY at Maybelline, or futuristic electric blue eyeshadow as sported on the runway by Marc and Marc Jacobs and Badgley Mischka, you can be who you want to be by the choice of the clothes you wear and the expressions through your skin and make up. Pushing forward this ethos was the exceptionally talented fashion blogger Prince Cassius who arrived at the Zalando event with his entourage in tow, “he’s a pretty cool blogger” whispered one of the Bright Lights PR girls in my ear, “8 million hits last year”, eye watering stats there and even more eye catching is Prince Cassius himself who has the air and demeanour of blogging royalty, Prince picked out a gorgeous Michael Kors blazer whilst eyeing me up and down and said “this would look gorgeous on you honey, with a pair of leather shorts or jeans”, noted, so I promptly asked the girls to “bag it up”.

With an array of beauty experts there to take care of your nails and hair whilst you casually browsed the new Spring/Summer collection, Neil my hairstylist who took care of my tresses upon arrival stated that glossy long hair was making a comeback, “not as poker straight as it was a whilst back, but straight glossy hair is making it’s way back”. It was a great afternoon, of fashion meets beauty and I am excited about Zalando no only for their amazing stylish offering but for putting on an impressive press event which captured the essence of style and beauty perfectly.
