Thought for Friday.
I’m tired of listening to women say “I give up, I’m getting old, men won’t pay attention to me anyway, what’s the point in trying?”
STOP!
I cannot stress enough that anti ageing is all about the mind FIRST. Everything else is secondary, if you are ageing in your mind, your body will follow suit FAST!
Remember, it is a number and do not allow yourself to be conditioned by it. Try this simple exercise next time you’re all dressed up and looking and feeling great, ask someone to guess your age, I guarantee you it will be younger than you actually are, it’s about the way you feel, and look it’s all about confidence. Next time you are feeling at your lowest ask someone to guess your age, I also guarantee the person responding will hazard an older guess than your true age or something close. A simple smile, youthful energy and positivity can knock years off you, take those factors away though and you can immediately look and feel older than your true age.
Let’s talk about clothes too, I’m also tired of hearing women say “I can’t wear anything too tight I might look cheap or vulgar”. WRONG! sexiness is about being confident in the clothes you wear, it’s not what you wear it’s HOW you wear it. Don’t dress for others. Dress for you. Wear bright colours, wear clothes that accentuate your best assets, you’d be surprised how amazing you can look if you were to just slightly loosen up a little, and let go of the fear factor.
If you’re thinking by now, ‘Antonia, really you need to stop,’ I will not, because look at this amazing woman here: Angela Bassett, guess what? she is 55 years old, exuding confidence, beauty and femininity at 55 years of age, did you think she was thinking or feeling any insecurities as she put on that gorgeous figure hugging red dress? um. NO.
Age is nothing but a number.
Confidence, sexiness, attractiveness, being comfortable in your skin, OWNING your style, taking care of yourself, eating well, working out, smiling, laughing, living life, that is what anti ageing is all about.
