Glo and Ray Mariposa Quartet

When it comes to eye shadow, I like my colours bold and enthusiastic, which is why I went ahead and gave Glo & Ray a try after reading its many rave reviews. The name, Glo & Ray is inspired by light and light rays and the company aims at harnessing the natural radiance of a woman through its products. The following are some of their products I tried and fell in love with instantly:

Mariposa Quartet Eye Shadow in Violet Emotion 400, £12.50

This palette is designed for women who don’t mind adding a splash of colour into their entire look. The colour range in this quartet and the other palettes in this range are to die for. While swatching the colours, I found that they were richly pigmented and incredibly silky and blendable. The colours are a mix of lights and brights for a killer three dimensional stare. The colours are perfect for spring and night outs but if you want something more summery, the Argean Blue quartet is a must-try. Alternatively, you can go for the nude pallets for a more natural look, if that is what you’re after.

Mirage Mousse Eye Shadow in Dark Sapphire 457, £11.00

This moussey, creamy eye shadow provides a flawless finish and does not sit in the creases of your eyes. The colour payoff is incredible and rich. My favourite one was Dark Sapphire, an intense blue colour that screams summer. The colour is buildable which is a huge bonus for me, as I like to amp the colour for night outs. I’ve read that this creamy eye shadow works well with oily skin as well and stays put all day long. I am definitely keeping this one in my makeup arsenal.

SkyBreaker Lasting Silky Eyeliner in Summer Sky, £5.50

After seeing Jessica Biel pull the blue eyeliner look off, I’ve been on the search for a blue liner that would work well for me. The SkyBreaker Lasting Silky Eyeliner in Summer Sky is definitely a keeper for me, not only because it’s the perfect shade of blue but also because it’s soft and creamy, which allows it to effortlessly glide on your canvas. The eyeliner is long lasting so you’ll need a good makeup remover to take it off.
